Computer School
The
Computer School at Guyanese Outreach's
Youth Learning Centre was one of the first computer schools in
Corriverton and continues to serve students and the community at
large.
GO
offers
the following courses in computers: Introduction to Computer,
Computerized Typing, Microsoft Word I, II, III; Microsoft Windows,
MS Excel I, II, MS Power Point, MS Access I, II and the Internet.
The computer lab is equipped with 25 computers.
GO"s
training reaches the elderly, the middle aged, young people,
secondary school students, and members of the surrounding
communities. GO's curriculum is designed in a very simple manner. It
allows even those that have not had a Secondary Education to be able
to learn more. GO takes anyone that is willing to learn.
Through our computer
classes, over 2,000 people have been trained for better jobs. Many
of them are working in government offices, the sugar estates, banks,
and businesses. A few of those persons are teaching others in the
community. Our program has been able to touch the lives of our
students and the community in a positive way.
